• Community raises funds for local students at PLCS Foundation ''Back to School Soiree''

    Papillion, NE - August 29, 2024 -The PLCS Foundation hosted its 15th annual Back to School Soiree on August 24, 2024, at the Beardmore Event Center of Bellevue. The event was attended by over 350 supporters, and raised $165,000 in support of PLCS students and families. Meta, with large data centers in the community, was the event’s presenting sponsor.

     

    The Back to School Soiree has become a cornerstone event in the Papillion La Vista community, bringing together parents, educators, alumni, and local businesses to celebrate and contribute to the success of PLCS students. Rob McCartney of KETV Channel 7 and Braeden Brickner, Papio South senior student, served as emcees. It featured presentations by PLCS Superintendent Dr. Andy Rikli, PLCS Foundation Executive Director Lee Denker, and the PLCS Navy Junior ROTC Program. Funds raised will assist PLCS students with school supplies and basic needs items, like clothing and hygiene products. 

     

    A highlight of the evening was a Hall of Fame ceremony honoring a legendary educator, community boosters and distinguished alumni from both PLCS high schools. Honored were:
